The good news of God always comes to us on its way to someone else. It must never be contained or possessed. The call of Jesus goes far beyond acceptance and heaven. Every follower of Jesus that remains on this earth continues to live and breathe for a reason. Every child of God is called to join the Father on His mission of sharing his heart and passion with the entire world. This mission is not only to the gifted or the elite, but is entrusted to every person regardless of ability. God believes in each one of us more than we could ever believe in Him. His mission is our mission.Tyndale starts again tonight. Systematic Theology II. We'll see how it goes. Finally starting our discovering God group this Tuesday and our small group is multiplying into three groups this week. Should be exicting.

I don't know if I completely believe this anymore... I know: heresy for a Mosaic-ite, huh! :)
No... but... I can't help but wonder... have we missed the point of God's mission? Is His mission really just about the good news.... always coming to us on its way to someone else...? Does it ever have a parking place, a person it (the good news) rests on?
Or is His mission really US? The Good News (Jesus) coming to US -- As Rob Bell said, "not man getting to God, but God coming down to man."
And then our mission becomes to pass that Good News along to others... because, in all honesty, when the news really is good, how can anyone keep it to themselves??
Just a thought... don't have time to expound on it now... here... but I will. Soon
PS -- Thanks for linking me!! Very cool!
PSS -- Glad that you're posting more often!
I can buy the idea that the gospel comes to us on its way to someone else, but I do have a bone to pick with the process as usually described. It's usually laid upon some new Christian who barely knows Genesis from Galatians. In addition to that they don't know their own soul any more because God just changed the rules on them.
So I guess I'd restate this as: eventually, if I have a growing relationship with God, that good news will show to everyone else. In God's time. Guilty witness is pretty much witless.
The truth is that the Holy Spirit can't be contained nor possessed. He possesses us, and begins to set right all the personality traits that we've messed up in response to our sick world. This, naturally, makes the person so affected stand out. The light shines.
Hi, Lon. Larry here, the perpetually harried ex-Temple Slave sound tech from MBH. I'm glad to have found your Blog (through a link on Lu's).
Regarding the above comment... I got names crossed up in a momentary brain fade. Ignore the last part of that comment, please.
